Kayaking

Kayaking is one of the most relaxing and yet exhilarating experiences I have done in my life. It provides the opportunity to get out on the water which is always a relaxing experience. You become one with nature, seals come to visit, popping their little black heads pout of the water 10 or 15 feet away. They just look at you as if wondering What are you? and what are you doing in my ocean. When I get into a kayak my worries all go away. I am suddenly in this new state of mind. Just paddle and take in a deep breath. All the bills, and politics go away. ‘

As much as i love kayaking, I just cannot find the time to go more than a few times each year so I have decided not to spend the money on buying my own kayak and all of te gear. Instead I take advantage of Kayak tours and rentals available at Deception Pass State Park, Coupeville Pier and in Langley. This way I just show up and enjoy the day out on the water. The rates are reasonable and when I am done, I get to go home and enjoy my day.

Anacortes Kayak Tours offers 1 1/2 hour tours at Bowman Bay on the Fidalgo Island side of Deception Pass. These tours are a great way to get your feet wet, without diving into kayaking head first.  They also offer a half day trip around Burrows Island at the Skyline marina and multi day trips out in the San Juan Islands.

Kayak Rentals are availible from xxx on pier in Coupeville

And Whidbey Island Kayaking offers guided kayaking trips on the south end of the island in Langley.
